Now, coming to the main topic: how to connect your Guitar Hero guitar to Xbox One?
Not to worry, we’re here to help!
How to Connect a Guitar Hero Guitar to Xbox One
Connecting a Guitar Hero guitar to Xbox One is actually a lot easier than you might think. Plus, it takes only a few minutes!
In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process. Follow these simple instructions, and you’ll be good to go.
Step 01
The first step is to plug in the receiver that came with your Guitar Hero kit. If you don’t have it, you’ll need to buy one from your local electronics store or online retailer like Amazon.
It should connect via a USB port on either side of the console itself – just make sure not to use the HDMI input.
Step 02
Once the receiver is plugged in, it’s time to turn on your Xbox One. Once it’s booted up, you should see a new tile appear called “Guitar Hero.”
Go ahead and open that up!
Step 03
Now, you’ll need to put the batteries into your Guitar Hero guitar. The easiest way to do this is by using the “battery pack” that came with your kit. All it takes is popping off one end of the battery pack and inserting two AA batteries into either side of it before putting each end back on again – just like how we did earlier when connecting our receiver!
Step 04
Now, you’ll need to connect your Guitar Hero guitar to the Xbox One. The cable that comes with your Guitar Hero kit has a red end and a white end.
Plug the red end into the “OUT” port on your guitar and plug the white one into one of the USB ports on your Xbox One – it doesn’t matter which one.
Step 05
Once everything is plugged in, go ahead and turn on your Xbox One. You’ll see a new tile on the home screen for “Guitar Hero Live.”
Select it, and you’re ready to start playing!
Using a Guitar Hero Guitar as a Controller for Other Games on Xbox One
You can use a Guitar Hero guitar as a controller for other Xbox One games by following the steps below.
Step 01
Go to Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories > Your Guitar Hero guitar.
Select “Configure” next to your controller and then follow the on-screen instructions for how to connect it as a gamepad device instead of just playing one specific title like Guitar Hero Live or Rock Band VR.
Step 02
The first thing you’ll need is an Xbox One Controller, which can be purchased separately from the console itself. If you already have one of these handy gadgets lying around, all that’s left to do is plug in your Guitar Hero guitar and start playing!
Step 03
Once everything has been connected properly, open up Guitar Hero Live on the Xbox One with a clip attached to it so that the LEDs will light up when you strum away at the guitar hero controller. If you’re having trouble getting the game to open, make sure your guitar is properly plugged into the Xbox One console and not just the TV.
Step 04
Now it’s time to start rocking!
The default settings for Guitar Hero Live on the Xbox One are tuned for an electric guitar, so if you’re using an acoustic guitar, you’ll need to head into the settings and change a few things.
Under “Options,” select “Gameplay,” and then look for the “Acoustic Guitar” setting. Change this from “Off” to “On” so that your Guitar Hero controller will know that you’re using an acoustic guitar.
Step 05
Once all of that has been taken care of, it’s time to start playing. Select a song and get ready to rock out!
The buttons on the Guitar Hero controller will map themselves to the notes you need to hit during the song. There’s no need to worry about which button corresponds with which string, as Guitar Hero Live takes care of all of that for you.
Note:
One thing to keep in mind is that the strum bar on the Guitar Hero controller will only work if you’re playing in standard mode. If you switch to another mode, like lead or rhythm, the strum bar will be inactive.
However, don’t worry too much about this, as it is easy enough to use your fingers to hit the notes instead.
Get Ready to Strum Your Heart Out!
Now that you know how to connect a Guitar Hero guitar to Xbox One, it’s time to start practicing!
There are plenty of songs available on the Guitar Hero Live game disc, or you can check out the song list online. Just be sure to get familiar with the notes and chords for each song to ensure you hit the right buttons before you start playing them in front of others to avoid embarrassment.
Of course, you don’t need to put too much pressure on yourself here, either. Ultimately, it’s all about having fun – so don’t worry about getting good first. Just keep playing until you feel comfortable with the controls, and then try again later when you have more experience under your belt.
The more you play, the better you’ll get. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced Guitar Hero player, connecting your guitar hero controller to Xbox one is a great way to take your game to the next level.
Good luck and happy strumming!
